During 2007 the capital campaign for Stage1 of our buildings was launched, raising R750 000. We began building work in 2008 and completed our first multi-purpose classroom with office, kitchen and toilets in March 2010. Fencing was also installed.

Plans were then completed for Stage 2 that included extensive landscaping works as well as a second multi-purpose classroom and three program specific small classrooms – a library, IT room and teaching kitchen. A second capital campaign raised R2.1 million with work commencing in January 2011.

Stage 3 of the project, for which our third capital campaign raised R400,000 including much needed security systems, a repaint of the original classroom, laying of a sanded area for soccer games and extension of the gardens was completed in October 2011.

In March 2013 we were able to renovate our kitchen in order for us to cook for and feed 90 children daily. The plans for stage 4 have been drawn up and being authorised for building to begin as soon as funding is available. We aim to raise ZAR1. 7 million in order to build a new classroom, new house for our caretaker, renovate admin offices and eventually a coffee shop/display area for goods made by our parents.
